She is now eating 2 flakes a day of Oat hay!

Errika – September 27th, 2007 (18 days home)
If you compare the September 17th photos with the 27th, you will now notice her weight is being distributed. She doesn’t look like she has just a pug pelly 
. She is now converted to one flake of hay throughout the day, and in the next 3 days will be slowly introduced to 1 and a quarter flakes of hay. She is still getting grain 4 times a day generally. One in the early morning, afternoon, evening, and late at night (between 10 & 12 depending on exact earlier feedings). When I am over there throughout the day I give her hay with and between grain. More imrpovement!

Errika – September 17th, 2007 (10 days home)
During the afternoon, enjoying her grain. Her stall was stripped of her shavings the last two nights because she was eating them. Later today we put her shavings back since she’s been eating more hay. Everything seemed fine, and she enjoyed a nice roll in her squishy bedding. Getting bigger….

Late afternoon on Sunday the 16th. Enjoying one of her daily grain meals, with the newly added corn oil and then some hay. Look at the difference since the Sep. 9th photo, she is gaining some weight already. Alert and perky, she is on the good road to a healthy recovery!

On one of her daily 10 minute walks. She’s ready for dinner!

Just days after returning home from UCD, she is settling back into life at home. As you can tell she is pretty skinny at this point and has a few bed sores.
